Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Porto Alegre is the oldest hospital in Rio Grande do Sul and one of the most modern hospital complexes in the country, being a Brazilian reference for the quality and safety of its Medicine, for the humanism of its assistance, for the excellence of its professionals. and by the modernity of its processes and equipment.

It is made up of nine hospitals intended to provide assistance services that refer the institution to excellence in medical and hospital care. Two units are general hospitals (one for adults and another for pediatrics) and another five specialized in cardiology, neurosurgery, pulmonology, oncology and transplants. Dom João Becker Hospital, in the city of Gravataí, has been part of the complex since 2018.

CHC Santa Casa, located inside the hospital complex, emerged in 2014 with a noble, challenging and fundamental mission: to bring culture, education and history to the entire community, preserving and valuing the cultural heritage of Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Porto Alegre. The space offers a program with infinite narratives and has a museum, theater, historical archive, classroom, multipurpose rooms, shop and bistro.
