The 3rd Latin American Congress of Peritoneal Diseases aims to bring together centers specialized in the treatment of peritoneal neoplasms in two days of intense debates with the greatest specialists in the treatment of carcinomatosis. This congress was born from the feeling of sharing knowledge and benefiting many patients that I learned from Dr. Olivier Glehen with whom I honorably share the presidency of the congress. Our goal is to bring together the largest number of centers in Latin America, maximizing the reach of treatment for cancer patients in the region. In Brazil, a unique moment is required, the incorporation of cytoreduction treatment associated with HIPEC in the scope of the treatment of cancer patients in the Unified Health System (SUS). Thus, there could be no lack of obligation to raise discussions with medical societies that can help provide better care for patients with carcinomatosis. We thank everyone who collaborated with the realization of a daring and promising meeting of friends who come together from all over the world to fight an enemy as challenging as peritoneal disease.
